Braun´s Silk Expert Pro 5: The first pulsed light epilator for men.

Although hair is back in fashion, there are some areas of the body where hair growth bothers us, such as the back, chest and underarms. This summer, look good with the new Silk Expert Pro 5. A new epilator with latest generation IPL technology that allows you to treat hair on the chest, back, arms, abdomen and legs permanently with visible results from the fourth week removing and weakening the hair.

This fabulous device features Sensoadapt technology, which consists of a sensor that identifies your skin tone up to 80 times per second and adapts the intensity of the light automatically, ensuring that it is the right intensity for each skin so that each shot releases the right amount of light to make it very safe and effective.

In addition, you can adjust the power according to the sensitivity of each area, such as sensitive areas like underarms.

The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 comes with two heads. One precision head, which makes it easy to reach smaller or difficult areas and the other with a wider head, to treat larger areas that require more travel.

It is so fast that it delivers up to 125 flashes per minute, allowing you to treat the chest and abdomen in less than 5 minutes at the lowest energy level.

Forget about going to any beauty salon because the IPL hair removal revolution has come to your home from Braun

The Royal Mansour has debuted a revitalised spa offering marked by three renowned skincare brands – Intraceuticals, Subtle Energies and Dr. Burgener Switzerland – each known for their innovative techniques, sustainable practices and results-driven treatments.

Intraceuticals – Intraceuticals’ scientific approach is focused on cell renewal and skin regeneration. The archetype of Intraceuticals’ innovation is the Oxygen Fusion, a treatment that uses the dual action of oxygen and hyaluronic acid combined to boost the production of nourishing serums.

Subtle Energies – Following the principles of Ayurveda, the treatments by Subtle Energies are formulated from high-quality oils mixed following a traditional recipe, creating organic products free of parabens and silicones. Subtle Energies employs the power of aromatherapy and uses Marma’s therapy points – vital energy areas of the body that are pivotal to work on stress release – to offer sensorial experiences that work on physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing

Dr Burgener – Created by the molecular biologist Doctor Pauline Burgener, the brand is a pioneer in a new wave of cosmetic treatments where personalisation and high technology meet. Using ultrasound waves to address skin care on a cellular level, treatments include green caviar extracted from algae on Okinawa Island, combined with the antioxidant power of gold trace elements, to repair and revamp the skin.

These new brands will sit alongside the hotel’s other luxury spa partners: marocMaroc, Sisley, Leonor Greyl and Bastien Gonzalez.

Well-being Cuisine – Guests will be invited into the kitchens of three Michelin starred chefs Yannick Alleno and Massimiliano Alajmo, to learn how to cook healthy yet delicious meals. Guests will learn how to plan meals around seasonal vegetables, superfoods and spices, how to cook fish to perfection, amongst other useful tips. Guests will also learn from the bar mixologist on how to make healthy smoothies, juices, infusions and Phyto-therapeutic concoctions.

Art therapy – An immersion into the therapeutic benefits of art, guests will be able to practice such activities as painting, modelling, pottery, calligraphy, and body language in the Atelier d’Artiste (Artist Workshop).

Royal Mansour has undoubtedly wanted to reflect on the situation we have been living through and encourage us to practice these therapies that help us to see the world with different eyes, to care for our physical and mental wellbeing. This is an opportunity to visit this luxurious retreat and pamper yourself to leave behind a difficult and stressful year.

JOALI BEING: Beyond the concept of wellness.

If you thought that Joali, which opened its doors in 2018, was a unique luxury resort in the Maldives, get ready because JOALI BEING is coming; the first “wellbeing” resort in the Maldives.

Designed as a ‘wellbeing’ resort – going a step beyond the wellness concept – and committed to immersion in nature, offering fully personalised and results-driven transformative programmes, with the ultimate goal of guests returning home feeling refreshed, replenished and inspired, with a new sense of ‘weightlessness’. The resort, the first of its kind in the Maldives, will offer some of the finest wellness facilities and unique transformational spaces, with hydrotherapy, movement and sound healing experiences.

JOALI BEING will occupy the natural island of Bodufushi in Raa Atoll, just 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport, with the option of a private transfer. There will be 68 villas, divided into exclusive beach villas and water villas, each with its own personal butler or “Jadugar”, which means “skilled wizard” in Dhivehi. All villas feature private plunge pools and a variety of special offers, such as personalised mini-bars, meditative balancing musical instruments, wellness games and much more. JOALI BEING also features an exclusive, fully equipped four-bedroom overwater villa with a magnificent uninterrupted view of the ocean, as well as a wellbeing room and a movement room.

With the untouched wild vegetation of the island, JOALI BEING has been built following the principles of biophilic design, a scientific system of architecture and design that integrates nature, with the aim of achieving harmony by eliminating negative vibrations and improving the energy flow of the island. The architectural concept for the resort was guided by JOALI BEING’s architect, Cuneyt Bukulmez, and interior design studio, Autoban – both of whom also led the design concept for JOALI Muravandhoo Island.

To realise the wellbeing therapy that Joali Being aims to present, the resort will feature a collection of transformative spaces that span the island.

AREKA, the new Wellness Centre, will open its doors to fully immersive wellness experiences, scientific therapies and diagnostic services, educational programmes, specialised therapeutic and alternative healing treatments, as well as extensive fitness facilities. It has 39 carefully designed treatment rooms and transformational spaces, including a Hydrotherapy Room, which features a Sensory Deprivation Room, a Russian Banya, aquatic therapies, a Salt Inhalation Room and a Hammam. There is also a separate Pilates Studio, an overwater meditation deck called the Ocean Sala and a “movement analysis” tool. JOALI BEING guests can also experience the unique benefits of the Sound Therapy Room and the Sound Path to Discovery, created in collaboration with visionary and sound healing consultant, Aurelio C. Hammer (also known as Svaram).

AKTAR is JOALI BEING’s Herbal Centre, inspired by the rich heritage and history of the healing powers of herbs. Guests can address their mind, skin, microbiome and energy concerns with the on-site herbal medicine specialist, who specialises in the preparation of natural remedies using herbs, spices and essential oils. Thanks to a library and a calendar of interactive workshops, guests can discover the benefits of herbal teas and learn how to make natural body creams, masks and massage oils. The AKTAR Shop also offers a selection of dried herbs, oils and natural cosmetics for purchase.

At Herdes we love gastronomy, but the culinary arts at JOALI BEING go beyond that and offer us many options to enjoy and take care of our nutrition. They focus primarily on an “earth to table” initiative, which promises traceability of ingredients and offers fresh, locally harvested food that supports small farmers and is sustainably sourced. All food and beverage options at JOALI BEING have been expertly selected with the help of the resort’s nutritionists, offering a selection of flavours and cuisines, with healthy yet indulgent dining options. If guests wish, personalised nutrition sessions and jointly developed menu recommendations are available.

JOALI BEING has a large, open and interactive dining space, known as FLOW, which features signature cuisines. Plantae, which offers vegetarian cuisine; Su, which serves ocean-to-table pescatarian fare; and B’Well, which offers JOALI BEING’s signature menu, including a selection of “earth-to-table” dishes. Mojo is the island’s tropical beach sanctuary, set on a three-level sundeck, offering an ideal spot for dining and sunset aperitifs by the pool. It is also home to the SAI Tea Lounge, which serves an incredible variety of teas and hosts tea ceremonies and educational tea sessions by the resident tea sommelier. JOALI BEING guests will also be able to enjoy interactive nutritional cooking classes at the resort’s Culinary Learning Centre, which will offer fully equipped cooking spaces for each participant.

Joali, which has always been all about conservation and sustainability, will this time do so by hosting one of the Maldives’ Turtle Conservation Sanctuaries, as well as a reef restoration project and a Coral Nursery. The resort is also collaborating with EarthCheck to introduce sustainability initiatives that have a long-term impact. The island’s sustainability infrastructure includes a Desalinated Water Bottling Plant, a Rainwater Harvesting and Grey Water Recycling System, a Glass Crusher and Recycler, a 1750 Food Waste Composter, a Vegetable Waste Crusher for fertiliser and a Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant for safe disposal.

Botanical Rainbow: Loewe’s sensorial kaleidoscope.

Jonathan Anderson is clear in positioning Loewe as a free-spirited cultural brand with an eclectic and prismatic identity connected to the fields of art, craftsmanship, popular culture and nature.

This vision extends to the brand’s perfumes, which have sought to unify and minimise the design of all the bottles in a range of bright colours that together create a botanical rainbow.

To celebrate the recoding of Loewe’s legendary perfumes, Tyler Mitchell, photographer and filmmaker, has photographed the campaign with a series of images that bring personality, emotion and craftsmanship, showing LOEWE Perfumes as a multi-sensory experience where colour, scent and identity are one.

The nine new faces of the LOEWE Perfumes campaign, with their distinct personalities, are portrayed in relaxed attitudes, along with organic elements that are arranged in Ikebana-like compositions, creating emotions through nature.

The dialogue between the handcrafted multiplicity of the botanical ornaments and the immediacy of the delicate and emotionally faithful portraits conveys a feeling of connection.

Nature shines in its beauty and as a means of creative expression. Humanity is celebrated in its naked, soulful essence, in harmony with nature.

Each fragrance shares the same distinctive bottle shape, but expresses its individual personality through a hue in a kaleidoscope of colour: a bold rainbow of hues reflecting nature’s own vivid colour palette as seen through the prism of human invention.

Carolina Herrera breaks the rules with Bad Boy

Carolina Herrera starts a new adventure with BAD BOY, a fascinating fragrance that brings the myth of the eternal rebel to our time. He is the one who dares to break the rules and walk his own path.

Carolina Herrera launches an innovative and explosive new masculine perfume: Eau de Toilette Bad Boy. A powerful and sophisticated scent for unique and irreverent men who dare to embrace all of the facets of contemporary manhood.

Bad Boy celebrates new masculinity: multifaceted and surprising. Men are pure duality: strong and sensitive; powerful and empathetic; heroic and vulnerable. Bad Boy is a tribute to empowered men who dare to follow their own path and who are not afraid to express and share their feelings.

This Eau de Toilette aims for excellence: surprising, elegant, powerful and sexy. Those are the codes of a fragrance built around opposites. The obscurity of Tonka Bean, Cacao and Ambar Wood contrasts with the luminosity of Sage, Black and White Pepper and Bergamot. This energizing duality is empowering and reflects the unique and complex personality of a Bad Boy. Bad Boy is an ode to rebellious men who fight for their principles and who like to be faithful to their own identity. Bad Boys are confident: their self-esteem arises from their determined and bold personality.

The Ritual of Hammam by Rituals

Photo by Gloria Silva. Set design by Smarlen Almonte

The Argan tree is one of the oldest trees in the world and grows only in the southwest of Morocco. The Berber tribes of this region have known the great power of Argan Oil for centuries, possibly thousands of years. It is for good reason that this tree is known as ‘the tree of beauty’. The use of Argan Oil for cosmetic purposes is an ancient secret, caring for both skin and hair. Organic Argan Oil is rich in vitamin E, has a vitalising effect, and softens and moisturises the skin.

Eucalyptus is associated with healing properties and a stimulating effect on body and mind. Eucalyptus oil is used in Turkish baths (hammams) and is said to soothe respiratory problems when inhaled.

Discover the Hammam massage oil combining a blend of nourishing oils and the warming properties of Eucalyptus. Contains a unique formula of nourishing oils including Argan Oil. This special massage oil transforms your home into the distinctive atmosphere of an authentic Oriental bath house.
